As part of a Georgian delegation, CCDS member Shorena Lortkipanidze visited Netherlands to attend events organized by the Netherlands Veterans Institute. Other members of the delegation included representatives of the State Service of Veterans’ Affairs of Georgia, MPs, representatives of the Ministry of Defence of Georgia and the Ombudsman’s office of Georgia.

The working visit revolved around the institutional exchange on holistic approaches to veteran care and the development of the most optimal concepts of care in support of the well-being of military veterans.
The working visit aimed to foster an integrated approach to policy development regarding military veterans, both in Georgia and the Netherlands.
The Netherlands and Georgian counterparts signed a Memorandum of Understanding on “Concepts of Care” during the visit, solidifying the commitment to the shared vision of care for military veterans.
CCDS would like to express its special gratitude to the organizers and hosts of this working meeting: Brigadier-General P.G.F. Paul Hoefsloot, Director Netherlands Veterans Institute, Mr. G.E. Gielt Algra, MA, Policy Officer at Netherlands Veterans Institute, Colonel (ret.) Prof. Dr. H.G.J.M. Eric Vermetten and to CDR (N) C.J. Caecilia Johanna Van Peski.
