December 5, 2022, marked an opening of the project Promoting Pluralism and Combating Stereotypes, which will focus on three diverse regions of Georgia – Kvemo Kartli, Adjara and Samtskhe-Javakheti. Within the framework of the project, first workshop was held for media representatives, in Marneuli, Kvemo kartli region. Participants were from local media, as well as local representatives of bigger nation-wide channels.

Workshop sessions were led by our experts – Rusudan Gotsiridze and Shorena Lortkipanidze. In the first part of the training, a short introduction exercise was organized, followed by a group discussion on identity and relevance of identity issues to the civil integration. As of the second part, along with challenges of media reporting and different perspectives, diversity and inclusion related topics were intensively discussed and participants presented their small group works about civic engagement in promoting pluralism and diversity.

The workshop aimed to create a space for reflection and understanding among project participants on diversity, tolerance, inclusion and pluralism; and to encourage participants to become critical thinkers and agents of democratic changes and promoters of pluralistic society.
