Lecture about the process of Security Policy Formation of Georgia was conducted on January 26, by the chairman of the Atlantic Council of Georgia – Vasil Sikharulidze, via Zoom platform. Meeting attendees included students, professors and academic staff of several universities interested in defense and security sector.
At first Mr. Sikharulidze discussed issues of national security in general and explained main components of national power. Furthermore, talks included importance of development and security interaction, more specifically cross-impact of economic development and national security.
Modern challenges of National Security such as cyber attacks, spread of disinformation and nihilism were discussed as a stumbling block for effective defense policy. To this extent was mentioned a vital importance of taking into consideration short, as well as long-term threats of national security.
The lecture took place as a part of the project Diversity and Inclusion in Defense and Security Institutions, organized by the Civil Council on Defense and Security and was supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Georgia. For further details please check the attachments.
