The training for journalists: Global Security and International Nuclear Non-Proliferation Regime has been conducted in 25 - 27 May 2014 in the Institute of physics (API) in Tbilisi (1st day) and in the Hotel Royal Batoni in Kakheti region of Georgia. The training was organized by the Civil Council on Defense and Security (CCDS) and supported by Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM).
In the training participated journalists of media groups from Tbilisi as well as from various regions of Georgia (totally 21 journalists). Trainers were from Georgia, Sweden and USA. Training was aiming increasing of awareness of journalists in Georgia on nonproliferation, nuclear and radiation security and safety issues.
Particularly, during the three dey training, to participated journalists were delivered the presentations on the following topics: Introduction to Non-proliferation Disarmament; Proliferation Pathways: How states can produce the nuclear materials they need; Why states have nuclear ambitions; Nuclear Terrorism and Illicit Trafficking.
