A lecture about Diversity in Politics: Britain’s and Europe’s experience was conducted on August 20, 2021, by Michael Roberts, specialist of international relations and EU studies, policy consultant to various governmental and non-governmental organizations.

Mr. Roberts started his lecture with a very recent and painful topic for politics, and not only, which is current state of Afghanistan and what are the threats to the socio-political life of this country. The main topic of the discussion was diversity and inclusion in the political institutions of Europe and North America. That included questions of discrimination and how they deal with it, where do we see demonstration of diversity, what are the pros of political inclusion, political correctness as a synonym of diversity and inclusion and etc.

Very important cases of gender and religious based discrimination were also talked and examples of breaking so called “Glass Ceiling” were mentioned, such as the case of Simone Veil. As well as examples of Islamophobia in EU and its challenges in modern European countries, like in France, were discussed.
