The summer university "Nuclear Non-proliferation and Nuclear Security: Global Challenges and Opportunities" took place on 3-8 September 2016 in Batumi, Shota Rustaveli State University, Georgia. It was organized by Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM), Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and Civil Council on Defense and Security (CCDS).
The event aimed at improving the capacity and competence of professionals working in academic sector in nuclear security and non-proliferation area so that they can use this knowledge and the already given international educational resources for the further developing their curiculums and academic researches.
Participants of the summer university addressed the following topics during the discussions: historical and current perspectives on global nuclear proliferation and nonproliferation, nuclear security, end of the cold war: new challenges and opportunities for non-proliferation, nuclear disarmament and Black Sea regional states.
