The workshop Diversity & Inclusion in Defense and Security Institutions: Towards more Equitable Representation & Participation was conducted in 20 November 2019, at the Defense Institution Building (DIB) School of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia. The workshop was organized by the Civil Council on Defense and Security and were supported by DIB School and the Embassy of the Netherlands in Georgia. In the workshop were participated representatives of the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior and other state structures responsible for the defense and security sector of Georgia. In the workshop are also participated NGO representatives and scholars.
During the workshop was reviewed Management of diversity & inclusion in the Netherlands defense and security institutions; Addressed and discussed diversity and inclusion in Georgian legislation and the gender equality in Georgian defense and security institutions. Was introduced Research on Diversity & Inclusion Defense and Security Sector; In brainstorming groups discussed the question how to promote, support and measure more equitable representation & participation within the defense and security Institutions.
