The Nuclear Nonproliferation and Nuclear Security Seminar was held on october 5th in the Diplomatic Training Center of the MFA of Georgia. The seminar was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Levan Mikeladze Diplomatic Training Centre Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM), Kings College London, Stockholm University and the Civil Council on Defense and Security.
The Nuclear Nonproliferation and Nuclear Security Seminar was held to discuss the following topics:
1) Rethinking and understanding the logic of nuclear deterrence for NWS, its implications for NNWS, assessment of the role of security assurances.
2) Prospects for Disarmament and arms control and non-proliferation in current international discourse: UNSC, UNGA, NATO.
3) Treaty on prohibition of nuclear weapons, its implication for Black Sea regional neighbours: vision of NWS, EU member states, international organizations- IAEA, NATO.
4) the vision of Black Sea states to support Ban the Bomb Treaty.
