The working meeting "The Path from Soviet Atomic Legacy to Global Nonproliferation Regime" was conducted in 23 February 2012, in the Hotel Tbilisi Marriott, Georgia. Organizers of the conference were Civil Council on Defense and Security (CCDS) and the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM).

Besides of CCDS and SSM representatives in the working meeting were participated representatives of Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Georgian National Security Council and the scholars from the Andronikashvili Institute of Physics.

At the working meeting was introduced and discussed various aspects of the project of CCDS in the frames of the Swedish – Georgian bilateral agreement, which was financed in by the Swedish side. Particularly the project for 2012-13 aimed to conduct the survey on Georgia’s historical nuclear legacy (academic researches and nuclear armament presence in Georgia in Soviet times) and survey on Georgia’s contemporary nuclear nonproliferation policy.
